FortisTCI Limited (FTCI) is a subsidiary of Fortis Inc., the largest investor-owned distribution utility in Canada, and serves 15,000 customers or approximately 98% of electricity consumers in the Turks & Caicos Islands.
The Company currently has an ASAI (Average System Availability Index) in excess of 99.9% and is one of the most reliable utilities in the region.
The Company has a combined diesel-fired generating capacity of 75 megawatts and met a combined peak demand of 34.7 MW in 2012. The Company owns 600 circuit kilometres of transmission and distribution lines across the islands. FTCI operates a fully integrated system providing for the generation and distribution of energy in Providenciales, North and Middle Caicos. It also owns and operates by way of AEP and TCU independent generating stations and distribution systems on Grand Turk, Salt Cay, and South Caicos.

Business need
Fortis TCI needed a new platform offering much richer functionalities and providing all options for future enhancements in replacement of multiple legacy systems.
The new platform needed to serve full billing facilities to all residential (B2C) as well as to all business (B2B) customers with Meter Data Management (MDM) -connectivity.
The new solution needed to be flexible to ensure that new products can be added quickly and to make all non-billed revenue transparent.
