Speaking at the formal opening of the Ferranti Computer Systems office, Richard Nijkerk, Chairman of Ferranti India, said: " Ferranti and our MECOMS™ platform are indicative of the many successes in the Belgian knowledge industry over the past years.

"MECOMS™ Service Management is focused on simplification of processes."
|
The next release of MECOMS™ will add significant operations management functionality to the product. Service Management is a key component thereof.
The goal of Service Management is managing the asset life-cycle. Work orders are used to bring assets in service, to maintain them, to monitor their condition and to replace them at the end-of-life. Service Management allows booking efforts, materials and costs on an asset and the logging of possible problems.
MECOMS™ Service Management is focused on simplification of processes. Blueprint work orders are pre-configured to make common processes easy to prepare and perform. For instance, a technician replacing a meter will automatically be provided with the required equipment, and during the replacement he can go through a clear checklist of actions. This cuts training needs and helps to prevent errors.
MECOMS™ Service Management is tightly integrated with Asset Management and Dynamics AX ERP functionality. Quotations for work orders are calculated automatically. Looking up and filling in paperwork is reduced to an absolute minimum to ensure efficiency.
Service activities can easily be grouped geographically and edited in batch. This greatly simplifies complex projects, such as rolling out smart meters.
MECOMS™ Operations provides utilities with integrated functionality to achieve operational excellence.

"MECOMS™ University ensures that partners and customers have the necessary knowledge and competencies."
|
MECOMS™ University offers training and certification, both to partners and end-customers.
Four training tracks are available: two commercial tracks (Certified Sales Professional and Certified Pre-Sales Consultant) and two technical tracks (Certified Implementation Consultant and Certified Professional Developer). Trainees can certify themselves by successfully passing exams.
Trainings are given by dedicated Microsoft Certified Trainers (MCT’s) in our classrooms in Antwerp (Belgium) or Gurgaon (India). Additionally, extensive e-learning courses are provided to ensure an optimal transfer of knowledge.
To ensure a high level of support throughout the world, MECOMS™ Certified Partners must pass a rigorous training and certification program. This ensures that they have the necessary competencies and knowledge about the market, the product and the technology.
