1. DATA PROTECTION & PRIVACY POLICY

1.1 We may require basic information which identifies you as an individual (“Personal Information”), such as your name, email address and phone number, in order to enable you to take advantage of particular services that we offer, for example when you send us a question / request from our “contact” page, request one of our newsletters or further information on a specific department. We will only use such Personal Information for the purposes of providing information which you have requested, or for other purposes set out in these Terms.

1.2 We may collect the following information:

  • Name and job title
  • Company or organization
  • Contact information including email address and telephone number(s)
  • Demographic information such as postcode, preferences and interests
  • Other information relevant to customer surveys and/or offers
  • Information pertinent to fulfilling our services on an organization’s behalf; and
  • Information relating to recruitment (please see section 3)

1.3 We may on occasion make use of Personal Information that we collect to help us administer the website and/or for marketing purposes. We may for instance send you information about our services, and selected third parties, that we feel might be of particular interest to you.

1.4 If you do not wish us to make use of your Personal Information in this way, please email dataprotection@ferranti.be. We will also give you the opportunity to opt out of future marketing whenever we send you marketing material, you can also opt out at any time by contacting us.

1.5 Employees, contractors and agents of Ferranti may be given access to any Personal Information which we collect, but their use shall be limited to the performance of their duties and in line with the reason for processing. Our employees, contractors and agents who have access to your Personal Information are required to keep that information confidential and are not permitted to use it for any purposes other than to enable you to use the website or to deal with requests which you submit to us.

2. RECRUITMENT

2.1 We may use a third-party provider for our recruitment activities. This is accessed through the Ferranti Recruitment portal.

2.2 The Ferranti Recruitment Portal allows you to submit, upload, store and amend your personal information in order to complete an online application form (the “Application Form”).

2.3 You can use the Application Form to:

  • Apply for specific positions at Ferranti which are advertised on the Ferranti Recruitment Portal
  • Apply speculatively for positions at Ferranti which are not advertised on the Ferranti Recruitment Portal and
  • Sign up to receive alerts by email about positions at Ferranti

2.4 In order to complete the Application Form you will have to provide personal information. The personal information you will be asked to provide will include your:

  • Name
  • Postal and email address
  • Contact telephone number
  • The position at Ferranti for which you are applying; and
  • Information about your academic and professional qualifications and experiences

2.5 We will use the personal information you submit to the Ferranti Recruitment Portal to:

  • Assess your suitability for a position at Ferranti
  • Deal with your inquiries and requests
  • Contact you in relation to your application for a position at Ferranti
  • Manage and administrate our recruitment processes; and
  • Where you have asked us to do so, to contact you about vacancies at Ferranti which arise and for which we think you may be suitable. You can stop receiving these emails at any time by logging into your account and changing your job alert settings.

2.6 We may also use and disclose information in aggregate (so that neither you, nor other individuals are identified) for the purposes of monitoring and developing our recruitment activity.

3. CONTROLLING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

3.1 We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so.

3.2 You are legally entitled to request details of the personal information which we hold about you.

3.3 If you would like a copy of your information, believe that any information we are holding on you is incorrect or incomplete or have any other data protection related issues or queries, please contact Ferranti’s Data Protection Advisor at dataprotection@ferranti.be.

4. CORRENTION, CORRECTION & DELETION OF PERSONAL DATA

4.1 Ferranti will provide you with a possibility to ensure that the personal data you provided to us is accurate and up to date. You can request correction, update and deletion of your personal information via e-mail sent to dataprotection@ferranti.be, and we will use reasonable efforts to contact you regarding your request.

4.2 In case you chose to be on a mailing list for periodic email updates regarding Ferranti services and events, you also can use this e-mail address (dataprotection@ferranti.be) to send us a notification that you no longer want to receive such information. We will honour your choice and refrain from sending you such announcements. You may change your choice at any time. To update or delete your data or correct an inaccuracy, we may ask you to verify your identity and cooperate with us in our effort.

5. COMPLAINTS

5.1 If you are concerned that we have breached a privacy law or code binding on us, please send an email to dataprotection@ferranti.be. We aim to respond in a reasonable time (normally 30 days). Our Data Protection Advisor will manage your complaint and will give you additional information about how it will be handled.

5.2 You have the right to complain to the Privacy Commission if you believe we have not handled your request in an appropriate manner. For information on contacting the privacy commission please see www.privacycommission.be.

6. SECURITY

6.1 We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorized access or disclosure, we have put in place appropriate technical, physical and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

6.2 Ferranti is in the process of obtaining certification according to ISO 27001:2013.

7. COOKIES

7.1 When you visit our Website a small amount of data known as a “cookie” may be stored on your computer’s hard drive. We use cookies to help us monitor the way in which the Website is used, which in turn helps us to ensure that the Website is relevant to its users. 7.2 The Internet is a global environment and using the Internet to collect and process data can involve the transmission of data on an international basis. Therefore, by browsing our Website and communicating electronically with us, you acknowledge our processing of data in this way. However, we will endeavor to protect all Personal Information collected through our Website in accordance with our data protection standards.

8.1 Our website may contain links to other websites of interest. However, once you have used these links to leave our site, you should note that we do not have any control over that other website. 9.1 Ferranti reserves the right, at its discretion, to make changes to any part of the Website, the Information or these Terms.

9.3 This policy is effective from December 2017. By continuing to use the website you agree to be bound by these Terms as amended.
