OmegaPoint, as most utilities, has to deal with a legacy of various types of meters. MECOMS™ ensures that the meter configuration and meter device information is accurately maintained to ensure correct information is collected.

Valdiate the plausibility of the meter reads

With the meter reading order, historical readings and validation criteria are given that allow local plausibility check of the meter reads whilst reading the meter and thus ensuring detection of issues at the source.

Determine the optimal route for the daily schedule

Thomas reads meters with a periodic schedule. These are usually included in a standard walk covering a complete street or area.  But there is also meter reading on demand, where any delivery location can be part of the meter reading walk. MECOMS™ Geo Route Optimisation uses GIS to calculate the optimal route between the places he needs to visit.

Communicate with headquarters

Thomas uses the MECOMS™ application on a PDA. The PDA communicates with the Central Office using Wireless network to exchange meter reading orders, Meter Reads and any other type of information.

Record any changes

Thomas uses the PDA to record any abnormalities such as tempering and technical intervention calls
