‘Waterbedrijf Groningen N.V.’ and ‘Waterleidingmaatschappij Drenthe B.V.’ are both drinking water suppliers in the North region of the Netherlands. They serve together more than 460.000 residential and business customers. They were looking for a proven, standard solution in the Water market that would help them work more efficiently at a lower cost.
Outsourcing hold them back
Waterbedrijf Groningen N.V. and Waterleidingmaatschappij Drenthe B.V. used to outsource their meter-to-cash processes. According to Richard van Rijn, Department Manager Operations at Waterbedrijf Groningen: “The outsource of these processes withheld us to be innovative and standard. Plus it was a very expensive constellation, that forced us to look for another solution.”
For that reason, both companies wanted to insource their meter-to-cash processes and were looking for a future proof and standard, off the shelf software solution to run their business in an efficient manner.

Higher efficiency & lower cost
The full project has been delivered during the period of December 2016 until April 2018. In addition to the implementation of MECOMS for the meter-to-cash processes, also an internet portal has been implemented together with our partner November 5. Furthermore Lasernet has been implemented by our partner Formpipe for document output management. Both water companies now have smooth invoice, payment & collection runs while the processing time is much shorter than the former solution.
