PUC Public Utilities Corporation operates MECOMS advanced billing to serve 80,000 Seychelles residents
The new system benefits the Back Office billing personnel, the technical and meter reading staff and CRM and customer service staff – 70 users in total, as well as 80,000 Seychelles residents.
Prodware Israel of Prodware Group (Euronext: ALPRO), which specializes in the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics solutions, has recently expanded its integration services for electricity manufacturers in Israel and overseas.
On March 15th, 2016, Prodware Israel announced that PUC Public Utilities Corporation – Seychelles’ national energy company – has begun operating an advanced billing system.
Seychelles’ national energy company provides electricity, water and sewage services to 80,000 residents who reside within three main Islands: Mahé, the central Island and home to a majority of the population, Praslin and La Digue.
Within the scope of the project, Prodware Israel implemented a billing system based on an integration between MS Dynamics AX and Ferranti’s MECOMS billing module solution, which was specially developed for the energy sector. The system, which replaces an ageing AS400-based system, enables automated integrative business processes and offers meter reading via terminals, invoices for clients, consumption meters and production meters, including bill balancing between the three, as well as payment collection and statistical reports.
This project is part of a holistic process that includes the replacement of the client’s ERP system with a Microsoft Dynamics AX system, which is led by African company Techno Brain, and has yet to be completed.
Yossi Haimov, Prodware Israel CEO: “This international project is extremely complex, as a result of the need to achieve ideal coordination between all suppliers involved. The project’s success relies on our expert staff’s vast experience, our fruitful cooperation with Techno Brain, and the implementation of MECOMS, a top-notch solution that works extremely well with Microsoft Dynamics.”
Tal Yehezkel, Senior Project Manager, Prodware Israel: “We selected the appropriate solution for Utility organizations. The former system included three separate systems and was unable to accommodate the changes in the infrastructure market. The system we implemented makes work processes much more efficient and saves a lot of resources. Back Office processes that used to take days to implement are now executed at the push of the terminal button, and the final client receives a precise and updated bill report. The implemented project is the result of dedicated teamwork, countless years of experience and Prodware team’s high level of expertise in solution implementation.”
Currently, the new system benefits the Back Office billing personnel, the technical and meter reading staff and CRM and customer service staff – 70 users in total, as well as 80,000 Seychelles residents. The project took one year to implement and became operational at the beginning of 2016. “Due to the levels of trust established between us and the client, we are currently looking into cooperating on additional projects”, says Haimov.
